Improving child behaviour

Improve your child's behaviour by adding to their tool kit of helpful behaviours and learning new skills of your own.

We work directly with the young person or through parents and carers to teach a range of skills, including emotional regulation, social skills and how to communicate without displaying problem behaviour. Clients include children and young people with learning disabilities, autism, ADHD and FASD, as well as those with no diagnoses.

Recent work includes delivering positive behavioural support to 50 families over a 2-year period as part of Medway County Council's Small Steps service. A key element of our approach involved using habit-change procedures to help parents incorporate behaviour support strategies into their everyday life.

There is no required number of sessions, so families can have as much or as little input as they choose. We provide services virtually and in-person.

"We have just completed a course of 6 sessions with Nick, focussed on addressing some very challenging behaviours from our 11 year old son who has ASD. We are not exaggerating when we say the experience has been life changing! Nick is clearly an expert in his field and has a wealth of experience to draw from. Every session was tailored to our needs, facilitated flexibly and sensitively. Nick has offered us such relevant and practical strategies, and has guided us through their implementation, making the process easy for us. In the short time we've been using these strategies we have already seen really positive results, and both ourselves and our son are therefore motivated to continue. For the first time in a long time, we are feeling hopeful! We are confident that we have the knowledge and ability to manage, and more importantly prevent challenging behaviours. We would thoroughly recommend Nick for support with any issues regarding behaviour change, and are very grateful to have had the benefit of his wisdom."
